ABOUT
Source DMK is a sourcing and manufacturing management company started by father and daughter, Michael Dotta and Sarah Berndt. Together, Mike and Sarah have over 40 years of combined experience working with manufacturers in Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
We take our business personally and treat every part and product that we work on like our own. We have the experience and know-how of a large corporation, with the service and values of a small, family run business.
Our clients range from small entrepreneurs and manufacturers who have never imported before, to large manufacturers and retailers with their own purchasing teams. Regardless of size or experience, companies turn to Source DMK when:
-
There is a need to reduce costs or understand price breaks
-
Dealing with quality issues and/or manufacturers who do not stand behind their product
-
There is a need to supplement current manufacturing operations and/or to diversify supply chain
-
They have outgrown or become frustrated with domestic distributors and would benefit from being able to import parts directly
-
Frustrated with the level of communication and service from their current sources in Asia
-
Entertaining new products and parts, outside the scope of their current manufacturing operations or supplier relationships
We pride ourselves on the relationships we have with our team, the manufacturers we work with in Asia and our clients here in the U.S.
Source DMK is an SBA certified Women Owned Small Business (WOSB).
INSPIRATION
DMK was the next step for Michael, after a long and fulfilling career with The Ashley Companies. Michael attributes much of what he knows about sourcing, manufacturing and negotiating, to his mentor, the entrepreneur behind The Ashley Companies, Ronald G Wanek.
During his 27 years with The Ashley Companies, Michael held positions in production, finishing, quality and purchasing. His final position was Vice President of Purchasing.
Michael took his first trip to Taiwan in 1984, when the country was still under martial law, and has since made over 100 trips to Asia.
